How to get to the Puerto Juarez terminal from Downtown Cancun
The ferry terminal in Puerto Juarez is a quick 10 minutes drive from downtown Cancun which is 3.5 kilometers (2.1 miles) away.
To get to Puerto Juarez from Cancun:
Grab a taxi - Taxis from downtown Cancun to Puerto Juarez should cost 90 - 160 MXN. Make sure you set a price with the driver before getting into the taxi.
Take the public bus - Get on the public bus line R1 from downtown Cancun. Ask the bus driver, “Puerto Juarez?” to make sure you get on a bus that goes to Puerto Juarez. Tickets cost less than $1 USD.
Taking the Isla Mujeres ferry from the Cancun Hotel Zone
If you want, you can take a ferry to Isla Mujeres from Playa Tortugas, Playa Caracol, or El Embarcadero, which is just as good as the first recommendation but more expensive and not as available.
If you’re traveling with a friend or partner, it would be cheaper to take a taxi to Puerto Juarez and then take the ferry from there. The taxi will take less than 20 minutes.
If you are on a budget, you can take the public bus which is cheap and will get you to Puerto Juarez. Look for line R1 or R2.
